Cookies & browser storage

We do not load analytics, advertising or social-media trackers. We use storage to keep your basket, handle payment retries and protect order status. There are currently no optional tracking categories to accept or reject.

Starting checkout creates an essential cookie named __Host-klay-order-…, one per checkout. It stores a signed access permission and expiry, not your name, address or card details. It is secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and expires within 24 hours. It lets the original browser read that order’s private payment status.

Clearing or blocking it may prevent you from checking payment status. It does not cancel an order or reverse a payment. If a payment result is unclear, contact us before paying again.

What stays in your browser

Local storage remains until cleared or removed by the website. Session storage normally lasts for the browser tab’s session; a browser’s restore feature may restore that session. Neither is a cookie. The entries below do not store your card details.

Local storage: Keeps your basket between visits.

The products, options and quantities you added. No name, email, address or payment details. Duration: Until you empty the basket or clear this site’s data in your browser.

Session storage: Stops a retried or refreshed checkout from opening a second payment.

A random reference number only. Duration: Until payment is confirmed or you close the tab.

klay-checkout-pending

Session storage: Lets the confirmation page remove exactly what you paid for, and send “Try again” back to your basket.

Local storage: Stops duplicate payment-return tabs from removing basket items twice.

Up to 512 opaque order references and whether their basket update finished. No contact or card details; not proof of payment. Duration: Until you clear this site’s data in your browser.

Session storage: Avoids duplicate enquiries when a submission is retried.

Session storage: Remembers that you closed the saved-basket reminder.

Payments, security and external services

Cloudflare Turnstile runs on our enquiry and checkout forms to check for abuse. Stripe hosts the payment page after you choose Pay now. Those providers may use their own cookies or storage for security and fraud prevention under their respective Cloudflare privacy policy and Stripe privacy policy.

Google Fonts receives a request when fonts load. Instagram pictures are hosted on our own website; clicking an Instagram link opens that separate service. Our privacy page explains the information shared with all providers, including hosting and email services.

Your controls

You can clear this website’s cookies and storage in your browser’s site settings. This may clear your basket and payment recovery information. Blocking required storage or security services can stop parts of checkout working. It does not withdraw an order you have already sent or erase information held by Klay or its providers.
